Does this automatically include every province’s statutory holidays?

Accepted Answer

No. The starting calendar covers federal general holidays. Use ‘Adjust holidays’ to match your provincial, territorial and employer calendar, including Family Day or a civic holiday if you receive it. Only selected dates count as days you already get off.

Is Easter Monday included in the Canadian federal calendar?

Accepted Answer

Easter Monday is not one of the 10 federal general holidays under the Canada Labour Code, so it is not selected here. Add 29 March 2027 if your employer gives you that day off.

Question 3

How does the optimizer find the maximum days off?

Accepted Answer

It checks possible breaks against your allowance, selected holidays and a Monday–Friday workweek. ‘Most days’ finds the largest combined number of calendar days across separate breaks, subject to your minimum break length. ‘One longest break’ finds the longest single break. Each break uses at least one leave day, and each date is counted once. Ties use fewer leave days, then earlier dates.

Are these extra days of paid leave?

No. Days off combines booked leave, weekends and holidays you already receive within the suggested breaks. It excludes unrelated weekends and holiday-only breaks. Your employer still needs to approve your leave.

Question 5

Which year and work patterns does this support?

Accepted Answer

This planner covers 2027 for people working Monday to Friday and booking whole days of leave. A break may extend into early January 2028 using holidays and weekends, but the tool never spends 2028 leave. Other years and shift patterns are not currently supported.

Can I save my plan to my calendar?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Download the free .ics file, then import it into Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar. It contains just your suggested leave dates as tentative all-day events. Download a fresh file if you change your choices; files you already imported do not update automatically.
